Beethoven's last completed piano concerto was composed in the middle of the Napoleonic Wars and was also performed for the first time in 1811 in a semi-public concert in the Eroica Hall of the Baroque Lobkowitz Palace in Vienna. Because of its 'heroic' tone, the concert in England was given the name "Emperor Concerto". This designation does not go back to Beethoven himself.
